"If My people, upon whom My name has been pronounced, humble themselves and pray, and seek My presence and turn from evil ways, I will hear them from heaven
and pardon their sins and revive their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14
We have a crisis in the church and the world today. We need 27,000,000 Catholics within the United States to commit to pray one rosary each day specifically for repentance and conversion throughout our country. Father Roy J. Oggero, C.S.B., writes:
I want to suggest praying the Rosary daily. It is the Prayer of Peace. You can pray out anger, envy, bitterness, unforgiveness, fear, anxiety; and the opposite of these begin to come into your life. There is a story Father Albert Shaman, a priest of the Rochester, New York Diocese, tells. It is the story of Austria’s great Rosary Crusade that liberated the country from Soviet control. At the end of WW2, the victorious allies pulled out of Austria and left it in Soviet hands. After three years of tyranny the Austrian people could no longer bear the Communist control. Father Peurus remembered the story of how the Ottoman Turks were defeated at Lepanto in 1591, though the Christians were outnumbered three to one. - The Rosary was prayed by all the men and the Turks were defeated, so Father Peurus called for a Rosary Crusade against the occupying Soviets. He asked for ten percent of the population to pray the Rosary every day. That would be 700,000 Austrians. He got the 700,000 and for seven years the Rosary was prayed every day. On May 13, 1955, the anniversary of the Fatima Apparitions, the Russians withdrew from Austria. Their evacuation made no sense since Austria was a real war prize. To this day many historians are baffled by the pullout. I mention this event to simply remind us that prayer is very powerful, and especially the Rosary. The choice to experience this power is yours and mine. I pray all of us will say "YES" to the Holy Spirit more often and pray the Rosary.Message given to the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus in Bishop John L. Morkovsky Assembly - August 1995. Printed with permission.
If 700,000 men (one tenth of the population of Austria at the time) praying the rosary every day for seven years helped deliver Austria from the Russians, then can we not believe that prayer still works miracles today?
To duplicate the Rosary Crusade in the United States of America, 27,000,000 Catholics (one tenth of the entire population) must commit to pray the rosary daily for seven years. This rosary should be in addition to any other rosary you may be praying, UNLESS you are already committed to a Rosary Crusade. Just add this intention to yours. This Rosary Crusade’s intention is for the repentance and conversion of all people and the healing of our land. In addition to praying the rosary and in order to overcome any evil forces that would disrupt this Rosary Crusade, it is important to pray the Prayer Against Satan & the Rebellious Angels by Pope Leo XIII aloud daily.
You might ask, "Why pray a Prayer Against Satan & the Rebellious Angels aloud daily?"
Two reasons: First reason, Pope Leo XIII exhorted the faithful to pray it often. The story goes that Pope Leo XIII was meeting with several cardinals. When he sank to the floor as if in a faint, some of the cardinals thought he was dead. After some time, he "came to," as it were, and told those around him of a terrible ‘vision’ he had been shown: what the coming times would bring, misleading powers and raving devils in all countries fighting against the Church. The pope then saw St. Michael appear - "in the nick of time" - to cast Satan and his legions back into hell. Following that frightening vision, Pope Leo XIII composed the following prayer that for decades was recited in every Catholic Church in the world.
St. Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we most humbly pray and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all other evil spirits that prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
That was the short version. The Holy Father wrote a longer version, which is included in this pamphlet. He exhorted priest to pray the longer version as often as possible, as a simple exorcism to curb the power of the devil and prevent him from doing harm. The faithful also may say it in their own name, for the same purpose as any approved prayer. Its use is recommended whenever action of the devil is suspected, causing malice in men, violent temptations and even storms and various calamities. It could be used as a solemn exorcism (an official and public ceremony, in Latin) to expel the devil. It would then be said by a priest, in the name of the Church and only with the Bishop’s permission.
The second reason we would pray this prayer aloud is because the spoken word is more powerful. There is no prohibition for lay people to pray the prayer against Satan and the rebellious angels. We must not be afraid to pray it. Fear is one tactic the devil may use to keep us from praying this prayer. Who is afraid of prayer? Satan and the rebellious angels are. There is no other prayer like this one that puts the authority over evil back into Christian hands. It is a profession of faith and should be said aloud daily in your homes, at the office and at church. The church is not exempt from spiritual warfare. As committed Catholics, when we pray this prayer, we actually pray it with authority in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Many Catholics are not aware of the spiritual battle that is specifically directed against them. Revelation 12:17 reads: "Enraged at her escape, the dragon went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep God’s commandments and give witness to Jesus." This is a specific reference to Mary and the Church (You and I are her offspring!). Ephesians 6:12 reads: "Our battle is not against human forces but against the principalities and powers, the rulers of this world of darkness, the evil spirits in regions above." 1 Peter 5:8 reads: "Stay sober and alert; your opponent the devil is prowling like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." We only have to look at the newspapers and turn on the TV to see the action of the devil doing harm. We are definitely in a battle. God did not leave us orphaned, nor did He abandon us. He has given us the church, the sacraments, scripture, prayer and the rosary to keep us faithful.
Our Heavenly Father is asking all to repent, especially His children who profess to be baptized Christians. As Catholics, we have a heavier responsibility to intercede on behalf of the Body of Christ which includes all Christians. In Scripture, Jesus said to his disciples, "He who hears you hears Me, and He who rejects you rejects Me." (Luke 10:16.) Jesus also said to Peter: "You are rock and upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it and whatever you should bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matt 16:13-19).These scriptures reveal that Jesus gave His authority to Peter and to his successors. Since the Church has been given the authority to speak for Christ, when we disobey and reject the inspired teaching of the Church, we reject and disobey Jesus Himself. "...the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth." 1 Tim 3:15
If we want to know what Christ is saying to us today, we can study the scriptures and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. There we find God’s plan and way of salvation. If we follow the order Christ established, we will avoid many difficulties and pitfalls. God has given Catholics a strategic weapon: a weapon that can dispel the darkness and the enemy from its constant onslaught against the family, and the destruction of mind, body and spirit - a weapon that can put the enemy to flight. Just as the armed forces have their secret weapons, we have ours. What is this secret weapon? It is obedience to the Word of God and to the teachings of the Church. Obedience is the weapon of protection and deliverance.
"All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness."
Hebrews 12:11
A study of the book of Timothy reveals how hard Paul worked in Ephesus to spread and preserve the faith. Today, it is against the law to say Mass in Ephesus, which was once a thriving Christian community. With this in mind, "Is there hope for us?"We cannot take our faith for granted in America. It is quickly slipping away. We must lay down our lives in intercession in order that our children might have a place to worship and celebrate Mass.
Now what must we do?
To duplicate the Prayer Crusade in the United States, 27,000,000 Catholics must: 1. PRAY the rosary daily for seven years for the repentance and conversion of all people. 2. PRAY the Prayer Against Satan and the Rebellious Angels aloud daily for protection of family, church and country.
If you feel led to be a part of this intercession, then begin right away and follow the directions at the end of this pamphlet. Commit to pray at a time that is most appropriate for you. You may choose to pray the first thing in the morning. It only takes 20 minutes. This is similar to offering the first fruits of your time back to God. You can turn off the TV and offer up one program while you pray. You are also encouraged to wear a Miraculous Medal and pray often the invocation on it: "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." For the grace to be faithful to Jesus and to this crusade, frequent the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. God Bless You.

Pray the following prayer aloud daily:
Prayer Against Satan & the Rebellious Angels - Published by order of H.H. Pope Leo XIII
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen
Most glorious Prince of the Heavenly Armies, Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in "our battle against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places" (Ephes., VI, l2). Come to the assistance of men who God has created to His likeness and whom He has redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil. Holy Church venerates thee as her guardian and protector; to thee, the Lord has entrusted the souls of the redeemed to be led into heaven. Pray therefore the God of Peace to crush Satan beneath our feet, that he may no longer retain men captive and do injury to the Church. Offer our prayers to the Most High, that without delay they may draw His mercy down upon us; take hold of "the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan", bind him and cast him into the bottomless pit "so that he may no longer seduce the nations" (Apoc. XX, 2).
Exorcism: In the Name of Jesus Christ, our God and Lord, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and all the Saints (and powerful in the holy authority of our ministry)(Lay people omit this parenthesis), we confidently undertake to repulse the attacks and deceits of the devil.
PSALM 68 - God arises; His enemies are scattered and those who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so are they driven; as wax melts before the fire, so the wicked perish at the presence of God. V. Behold the Cross of the Lord, flee bands of enemies. R. He has conquered, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the offspring of David. V. May thy mercy, Lord, descend upon us. R. As great as our hope in Thee.
(The crosses indicate a blessing to be given if a priest recites the Exorcism; if a lay person recites it, they indicate the Sign of the Cross to be made silently by that person.)
We drive you from us, whoever you may be, unclean spirits, all satanic powers, all infernal invaders, all wicked legions, assemblies and sects; in the Name and by the power of Our Lord Jesus Christ, + may you be snatched away and driven from the Church of God and from the souls made to the image and likeness of God and redeemed by the Precious Blood of the Divine Lamb. + Most cunning serpent, you shall no more dare to deceive the human race, persecute the Church, torment God’s elect and sift them as wheat. + The Most High God commands you. + He with whom in great insolence, you still claim to be equal; "He who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim., 11,4). God the Father commands you. + God the Son commands you. + God the Holy Ghost commands you. +Christ, God’s Word made flesh, commands you; + He who to save our race outdone through your envy, "humbled Himself, becoming obedient even unto death" (Phil.,11,8); He who had built His Church on the firm rock and declared that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Her, because He will dwell with Her "all days even to the end of the world." (St. Mat., XXVIII, 20).
The sacred Sign of the Cross commands you, + as does the power of the mysteries of the Christian Faith. + The glorious Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, commands you; + She who by her humility and from the first moment of her Immaculate Conception, crushed your proud head. The faith of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and of the other Apostles commands you. + The blood of the Martyrs and the pious intercession of all the Saints commands you. + Thus, cursed dragon, and you, diabolical legions, we adjure you by the living God, + by the true God, + by the holy God, + by the God "who so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that every soul believing in Him might not perish but have life everlasting" (St. John, III); stop deceiving human creatures and pouring out to them the poison of eternal damnation; stop harming the Church and hindering her liberty. Be gone, Satan, inventor and master of all deceit, enemy of man’s salvation. Give place to Christ in whom you have found none of your works; give place to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church acquired by Christ at the price of His Blood. Stoop beneath the all-powerful Hand of God; tremble and flee when we invoke the Holy and terrible Name of Jesus, this Name which causes hell to tremble, this Name to which the Virtues, Powers and Dominations of heaven are humbly submissive, this Name which the Cherubim and Seraphim praise unceasingly repeating: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord, the God of Armies. V. O Lord, hear my prayer. R. And let my cry come unto Thee. V. May the Lord be with thee. R. And with thy spirit.
Let us pray. God of heaven, God of earth, God of Angels, God of Archangels, God of Patriarchs, God of Prophets, God of Apostles, God of Martyrs, God of Confessors, God of Virgins, God who has power to give life after death and rest after work, because there is no other God than Thee and there can be no other, for Thou art the Creator of all things, visible and invisible, of whose reign there shall be no end, we humbly prostrate ourselves before Thy glorious Majesty and we beseech Thee to deliver us by Thy power from all the tyranny of the infernal spirits, from their snares, their lies and their furious wickedness; deign, O Lord, to grant us Thy powerful protection and to keep us safe and sound. We beseech Thee through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.
From the snares of the devil, deliver us, O Lord. That Thy Church may serve Thee in peace and liberty, we beseech Thee to hear us. That Thou may crush down all enemies of Thy Church, we beseech Thee to hear us. (Holy water is sprinkled in the place where we may be.) Imprimatur: +Henri, O.M.I. Vicar Apostolic of James Bay - Aug. 15, 1967

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?"
"Here I am," I said, "Send me!" Isaiah 6:8
