Christmas 2013 Reflection
The love of God is shining from the manger at Christmas Time.
The mystery of the Incarnation is beyond human understanding. Jesus, true God and true man, came to earth in poverty to show us how to live. As a little child helpless, He came into the world and He is the hope of all creation. By his birth he has brought joy, love and reconciliation to all. He is the love of God. He is God incarnate. Let us shine the love of God to others. Jesus is the reason for the season and He will show us the way.
With our hearts full of love and gratitude, we make Blessed Virgin Mary's prayer our own:
"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold,
from now on will all ages call me blessed.
The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him."
Luke 1:46-4
This Christmas, our loneliness may be accentuated by memories of family members now departed. How can sadness be conquered and how can joy come back into our lives? Only through God's grace... God can give us the strength that we lack and He can take our hand, if we ask, and help us help others when we feel confused and disoriented. We have the power to love, the power to help others, the power to forgive. By becoming his instrument to bring joy and peace to others, we may be able to enjoy peace and joy ourselves.
Let us be the shining light of Christ to others this Christmas and all throughout the New Year.
May our lives be a blessing to others.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
God bless you and your families today and always,
