Pope John Paul II Angelus Message
VATICAN
The Pope’s Angelus message: “It is by contemplating Christ and following him with patient trust that we come to understand that every form of human suffering holds within it God’s promise of salvation and happiness”.

Sunday - February 27, 2005 - Angelus Message

“My dearest Brothers and Sisters, once again I am speaking to you from the Policlinico Agostino Gemelli. I thank you with affection and I feel you all spiritually close to me. I think of those gathered in St Peter’s square, individuals and groups and the many people all over the world who are showing concern for my person. I ask you to continue to accompany me, above all with your prayers.
The penitential climate of Lent which we are living helps us to better understand the value of suffering which touches every one of us in one way or the other. It is by contemplating Christ and following him with patient trust that we come to understand that every form of human suffering holds within it God’s promise of salvation and happiness. I would like this message of comfort and hope to reach everyone, particularly those who are experiencing times of difficulty, those who suffer in body and spirit.
To Mary, Mother of the Church, I entrust myself once again: Totus tuus! May she help us to do God’s will every moment of our life.” (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 28/2/2005; righe 20; parole 283)
