What is Our Cross Today?
Lord Jesus, what do you want for me to do this Lent? What do you want me to do for the rest of my life?
I imagine Jesus saying: “Do what you can do and a little bit more.”
What do you mean by a little bit more, Lord?
“Take care of my flock and love them where they are. They are like lost sheep. Left unattended they scatter and the wolf prowls and devours them.”
We are to shepherd the people of God and make of them a team of faithful disciples of Jesus.
Our cross comes in different shapes and forms.
You know what your cross looks like. Offer it to the Lord. Embrace it and pray for it.
Lent in the Catholic Faith is a time of prayer, fasting and alms giving. It is a time of spiritual growth.
Lent is 40 days before Easter Season excluding Sundays. The Easter Season begins with the Tridium which includes Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil/Easter Sunday.
“If anyone wishes to come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross daily.”
Luke 9:23:
What is our cross today?
